The Deacon’s Parable.

A self-consciouß and egotistical young clergyman was supplying the pulpit of a country church. After the service he asked one of the deacons, a grizzled, plain-spoken man, what he thought of his morning effort “Waal,” answered the old man, slowly, “in tell ye in a kind of parable.
