Monument Financial Report Shows Shortage of About $200.
All members of the various committees of the Milroy and Soldiers’ monument were not present at a meeting held Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Mary E. Thompson and it was impossible to determine the exact state of the finances, although it was apparent that something like S2OO vus needed to Cvmplete the payment of all accounts. Another meeting will be held within a few days and means discussed for raising the balance. Owing to lack of help on the 4th, the badges did not sell as well as had been expected and only $115.75 was derived from the sale. The selling was begun by several little girls the Friday before the unveiling and aside from that help, the sale devolved entirely upon Mrs. Roberts, who sold 300 herself on July 4th. More than 1,500 of these badges remain unsold.
“Generally debilitated for years. Had sick headaches, lacked ambition, was worn-out and all run-down. Burdock Blood Bitters made me a well woman.”—Mrs. Chas. Freltoy, Moosup, Ccnn.
