Proceedings of July Term of The Commissioners' Court.

Owing to the Fourth coming, on the first day of the commissioners’ court, no session was held Monday. T’le board met Tuesday and soon cleaned up the business of the term

The auditor was directed to give notice of letting the contract for three bridges in Walker township, one in Wheatfield and three in Milroy, and also repairs on Burks’ bridge. The sale of the Geib stone road bonds to the Fletcher National Bank, of Indianapolis at par value, amounting to $4,000, was confirmed. In the Snip stone road matter in Keener jtownship, the viewers filed a supplemental report. No objections were filed. The board approved the report and profile ar.d the auditor was directed to give notice by publication that on July 3'.ith the polls of Keener township will fcc opeued for the purpose of taking votes on the question of establishing the road. Each road is to be voted upon separately. R. B. Harris and J A McFa r land were appointed election commissioners. The viewers reported favorably for the vacation of the Smalley highway. George Hensler and seven others filed a remonstrance. Wm. Bringle, F. M. Welsh and Wm. Washburn were appointed viewers and are directed to meet at the auditor’s office July 18th to qualify They are to make report on or before the first day of the August term

The viewers filed a favorable report for the location of the F. M. Ooff highway in Union township and the highway was ordered established to the width of 50 feet. The auditor was directed to give notice to trustee and the expense account was ordered paid as per report. The final report was filed in the Wm. M. Hoover ditch and. the cause was continued for objections. -Geo. D. Prevo ditch. Continued for objections. A petition for changing the voting place in Walker township was dismissed. The sale of the Helcher ditch bonds was approved. In the John W. Merry and Jennie Oish ditch petitions,, the causes were continued for notices The auditor was directed to issue a deed to B. J. Gifford, the record owner of a certificate for the purchase of land sold on school fund mortgage. Albert Smith, civil engineer, filed a report approving the following bridges just constructed: No. 9726, constructed by the Joliet Bridge Co.; Nos. 9881 and 9724, constructed by the Attica Bridge Co. A petition was filed by H. W Marble for a highway in Wheatfleld township. John O’Connor, Asa Brown and H. C. Meyers were appointed viewers to meet at the office of A. L. Jensen and report on or before the August term.
