In spiteof the fact that every citizen has signified a willingness to invest in a talk machine at reasonable rates, the dinglings refuse to come along and make themselves at home. Recently an inhabitant met a salesman and told him of it, and the salesman said: “This must be the home of Rip Van Winkle—lead me to him. - ’ Clark Station is two miles from Gary, and but 24 miles from Chicago. It Is on the Rand and McNally map, just the same as Bagdad and Tiinbuctoo, where the tinkle, tinkle of the phone butts into life with joyful disregard of time, occasion or person. As a refuge for the bell mad telephone girl in vacation time, Clark Station is worth remembering. vi S S. McClure, of New York, was successfully operated upon at MaisonBelpau in Paris yesterday.
