The Barkley boys bought a fine machine last week. The Misses Tanner enjoyed a visit from their sister, Miss Fay, over Sunday. Mrs. John Maxwell enjoyed a visit from her two sisters from Rensselaer Monday. Miss Grace Daugherty will leave 4his week for Bloomington, Ind., where she will attend school. Mr. and Mrs. Jud Adams, in company with Mr. and Mrs. Kenton Parkinson, visited in Remington last Sunday. There will be an ice cream and cake social on the lawn of the Barkley M. E. church next Saturday evening, June 25th. V r. There was preaching last Sunday evening at the Independence school house. Arrangements have been made for regular services every two weeks, fy Rev. E. M. Kuonen. The funeral of the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archer, who died last Friday, was held at her father's residence, four miles north of Pleasant Grove, last Sunday afternoon at 2 p. m. Rev. Kuonen conducted the services.
