Insane Han Lands In Jail After Searing Farmers’ Wives.

Sheriff Shirer was called south of town Wednesday morning to »eV«> charge of an insane man who had appeared at the home of Mr. Hurley during his absence and frightened the women. Upon his arrival he found the man talking to Mr. Hurley, and upon learning who the sheriff was, the* insane man accompanied him to town without ahy trouble. The man proved to be Robert M. Allen, who has .been making his home at Fowler for some time. Allen has a brother at LaCrosse and a sister in Wolcott. He disappeared some time ago and’they were unaware of his whereabouts until he was taken in charge yesterday by the sheriff. Allen became quite noisy after being locked up, but later became quiet. He will be sent to the asylum, but the sanity inquest will probably be held in White county, as he has no relatives in this county. He has the hallucination that a mob is after him. This Thursday morning the town marshal of Brook and Allen’s cousin, Mr. Witham, came here and took Allen to Brook, where an Insanity inquest will be held.
