City of Lafayette Loses Suit Against County Treasurer.

After considering the case for some time, Judge Vinton has refused the writ of mandate asked by the city of Lafayette to compel County Treasurer Duncan to file a SIOO,OOO bond, as the custodian of the city funds. The court held that the action taken was not the proper remedy to be taken-by the city. He said if Mr. Duncan were guilty of any wrongdoing impeachment proceedings were the proper course for the city to pursue. The court granted the city an appeal to the Supreme Court.
