“The Ideal Prayer-Meeting,"

In a church which could be named the pastor was desirous of bringing about in a tactful way some improvements in the mid-week service, and announced for a subject, “The Ideal Prayer-Meeting.” A number of helpful suggestions had been .made, when one brother, known to be harmless as a dove if not wise as a serpent, got up, and said: “I think everybody should/Come prepared to say something, so that no time sheuld be lost except that which Is taken by the pastor.” As he was known to be a great admirer of the pastor, the gravity of the meeting was somewhat disturbed.
