City Council Held Short Session on Monday Evening.

All members were present at the city council meeting Monday evening, at which but little business was transacted. The mayor was authorized to sign a contract with the Shirley Hill Cbal Co. for coal for the ensuing year at $2 per ton for mine run and $2.20 for lump, F. O. B. Rensselaer. The firemen present at the Grant fire were allowed $2.50 each and at the Blanchard barn fird- $1 each. Sam Roth, Chester Zea and True Woodworth, who are not firemen, were allowed $1 each for services at the Grant fire. The cost for firemen at the Grant fire was $lB and at the Blanchard fire $7. R. A.
