SEVENTH COURSE OMITTED FROM BALL TEAM BANQUET.
St Joe Boys Given Six Course Supper At Fate’s Model Following Defeat Of Wrens Sunday. The members of the St. Joseph’s college baseball team were given a fine spread at Fate’s Model restaurant last Sunday evening, the athletic director, Father Saurer, having charge of it on behalf of the faculty. Toasts and reminiscences marked the feast, which was also the parting of some of the members of the representative team, after several years of association. George Fate, the genial host, is always looking for a chance to pull off a good stunt and being a member of the Wren baseball association, he had hoped to score - a victory that day against the collegians. In anticipation of pulling off one of his best jokes, “Mine Host” Fate had polished up a big lemon to serve to each of the ball players, but as the Wrens were defeated the lemons were not served and Mr. Fate explained that he would have to reserve the lemons for the Wrens. All had a fine time and a fine supper.
