Gov. Charles E. Hughes to Be A Member of U. S. Supreme Court.

Oov. Charles E. Hughes, of New York, prominently mentioned during the campaign for republican domination for president in 1008, has been offered and has accepted the position of associate Justice of the Supreme Court' of the United States. It is an appointment for life. It is understood that Mr. Hughes will continue as the chief executive of New York until next October; not taking the oath of office until the fall term of the supreme court The acceptance of this high office will forever preclude Gov.
