Prosecutor Longwell Giving Some Investigation to Bridge Contracts.

Prosecutor Fred Longwell, of Brook, is here getting matters fixed up for the case of the State against Frank E. Babcock, which is set for hearing for next Monday, and for the cases of the State vs. William Lewis, charged with having sold liquor in violation of the “blind pig” law, while living at Mt. Ayr. It is also understood that he is giving considerable attention to the bridge contracts that have been let in this county and that he has discovered several things that look “peculiar” to him. It is uot improbable that he will call a grand jury to investigate it and in doing this he will meet the approval of the taxpayers of the county, who want every man in Jasper county prosecuted, no matter who they are or what their guilt is. It is his duty to go after any person he believes guilty of graft and Prosecutor Longwell deserves the support of every taxpayer irrespective of party.
