KENTLAND ELEVATOR BURNS; CAUSING $60,000 LOSS.

McCray, Morrison & Co. Transfer Elevator and Eight Loaded Cars Burned Thursday Night. The big transfer elevator of McCray, Morrison & Co., at Kentland was con- ; sumed by fire Thursday night along with eight loaded cars of grain on the Pennsylvania siding. The loss is estimated at 860,000, and insurance in the sum of 850,000 was carried. Fifty thousand bushels of corn were burned. As it was very dry there was imminent danger of fire all over the city and for two hours automobiles patrolled the residence section of the town and a dozen fires were reported to have been started by flying embers but all were put out. It is said that the fire c I be seen for 20 miles and a hundred automobiles took people in from neighboring towns.
