Perry Marlatt Sells Seven Months Old Colt for $200.
Perry Marlatt has been a breeder of fine draft horses for a number of years but he never did anything better in the way of price for a draft mare colt than he did last week. He sold to Earl Barkley a mare colt, sired by tkw big Sage horse, for $202, The colt was 6 months old on March 10th, al which time it weighed 820 pounds. The colt was exhibited at the Rensselaer horse show last fall when only 3 weeks of age, and was a very fine colt at that age, and has developed into an unusually fine draft filly. Barkley Bros, are the owners of Nelson, the colt’s sire and they wanted to have a sample of the goods on hand to exhibit to breeders. The colts of this great horse have many of them sold for $l5O and above, but this is the largest price so far paid for a colt less than 7 months old.
