The Brotherhood meets Friday, Apl. Bth, at 7:30 P. M. The subject Sunday morning at the Trinity M. E. church is “Behind Him, Before Him.” Sunday evening, “A Cleansed Way,” sermon to young people.
Senator Shively will attend the Indiana state convention next iponth. A Washington dispatch states that he declines positively to be interviewed in regard to the plan to have the state convention indorse a candidate for United States senator, but it is understood he is opposed to it. Myron E. Sears, aged 28, an exsoldier and one of the best known young men in Lafayette, committed suicide recently at the St. Nicholas hotel by taking prussic acid. It Is supposed that he was despondent. In the note which Sears left, he asked that taps be sounded over his grave.
The South Whitley Baseball and Amusement association, of South Whitley, with a capital stock of SI,OOO, has filed articles of Incorporation with the secretary of state. The directors are Frank E. Miner, L. C. Parker, Fred Fox, Walter Martin, Arthur L. Slagle, William F. Bonness and George Talbert, Jr.
