Veteran From Parr Claims to Have Been First Contributor.
B. H. Shelter, of Parr, a well known old soldier and a veteran of the 49th Ohip, with which regiment he Berved the civil war, claims have been thi|&pt. eaptfributor toward the erection or the Milroy monument. When the 9th Indiana held its reunion in Rensselaer in 1908 and the project wfas started, Mr. Shelter handed a coin to Whitehall, the secretary of the association, telling him to place It to the credit of the fund for that purpose. He did not state the amount of jthe contribution, but now that the association is giving S2OO towards the moument, Mr. Scheffer intends to add ty the then small contribution.
