Annexitis Prevails in Lake County; Many Towns Are Affected.

Annexitis is not an individual disease and people can go to any of the big towns and small cities in northwestern Lake county and havd no danger of contracting it. TJhey will hear it discussed on every corner, however, and will learn that it is the city governments and not individuals that are affected. At the last meeting of the East Chicago council, that town passed an ordinance annexing both Hammond and Tolleston and on Monday morning Gary called a special session of the city coundil and annexed East Chicago, Tolleston and Hammond, and then Monday night also annexed Whiting. The mayors and officials of the various cities are wondering what will happen next. A meeting of representatives of the five cities has .been called an# it is probable Jthat it will be agreed to annul all the annexation proceedings and aTI of the towns agree not to do it again.
