Monkeyed With a Gasoline Can When it Was Loaded.
Medaryville Advertiser. Last Wednesday forenoon Gurth M. Guild and Emory Penry removed the gasolene tank from the former's automobile in order to repair a small leakage in the same. They emptied what gasoline there was in it and Gurth taking the tank under one arm, Emory proceeded to solder up the little hole. No sooner did the hot soldering iron come near the tank, when there was an explosion that shook the very foundation of the office room in which the work was being done. The tank itself was torn to shreds, window lights were blown out and things in the office considerably mixed up. Thai both young men were not killed outright, j>r at least seriously injured, seems a miracle. As it was, Emory escaped unhurt, while Gurth had his ffrm considerably but not dangerously singed. The accumulated gas in the tank caused the explosion.'
