HANGING GROVE.
Mrs. Chas. Saidla is quite sick with lung fever. The doctor was called out to see her Wednesday. The little grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Martin has been sick for severa days, but is better now. J. C. Ireland was in Hammond and Chicago last week visiting and while in the city bought three head of farm horses. Ben S. Bond has moved on the Hor ton & Mosely ranch. He comes here highly recommended as a good farmer and breeder of fine stock. Lewis Hooker moved to the B. Forsythe farm, north of Rensselaer, Mon day, and Clarence Maxwell moved tc the Poole farm vacated by Mr. Hooker Porter and Howe loaded their car Wednesday, billed for Newton, 111. Their car went from here over the C. & W. V. to Kersey to connect with the C. I. & S. George W. Moore has sold the English farm to Bledsoe and Engle at Francesville and they also have bought the Godshall farm and now have a whole 160 acres. Mr. Herr’s car of goods came Sunday evening. They will occupy the house vacated by M. O. McDonald, until they can build better. One of the boys came through with the car. Henry C. Danke and family, of Newland, went to Monon Tuesday night, where they will make their home for some time. Mr. Dancke has charge of the pickle business between Monon and Parr. ( ' Grandfather Jno. M. Gwin came to McCoysburg Saturday for a visit with his daughter, Mrs. M. O. McDonald, before she left Sunday for her new home near Monticello. He is now visiting with his son, J. P. Gwin and family. *• While it was expected, that all the stores .would be open as in times past, but two or three of the stores that were in the closing agreement were open.
