The Monon railroad last week bought 5,000 tons of open hearth steel rails of a Gary company. The Monon will be greatly improved in many ways this summer, including the erection of a new station in Rensselaer. Burkland, of Brook, brought a team of horses over this morning to offer at the horse sale. They belonged to his son Victor, who has had a siege of pneumonia that was very serious for a time but he is now somewhat improved. Mr. and Mrs. John I. Gwin moved from their farm in Union township, today, Into ttie B. F. Ferguson property on Cullen street. Their farm in Union township will be occupied by Andrew Myers, who is thought to have arrangements made warranting against lonesomeness.
