Duck Hunting Promises to Be Good on the Kankakee.

Word has been received by E. E. Earle, of the statq fish .and game commission, that the duck shooting in the Kankakee marshes this spring promises to be unprecedented. The birds are beginning to arrive in small numbers, which is taken by the Kankakee hunters as a goqd sign. Although the marshes are still frozen over, the river is open, and the ducks are making use of it. The marshes are fuller than usual this spring and when the ice melts they will be in splendid condition for receiving the birds as well as the hunters, it is reported. The duck season does not close until April 15th as provided by an act of the general assembly of 1909. The closed season is from April 15th t< September Ist.
