Chicago Bargain Store Quits After Long Career and Entire Stock Will he Sold Thursday.
B. Forsythe brought the career of the Chicago Bargain Store under his management to a close Saturday night when the doors were closed and locked by-him for the last time in the retail mercantile business in Rensselaer. The stock that remains after his great clearance sales of the past few months, during which time it was just replenished enough to permit of continuing the retailing of other articles, is now being invoiced and on Thursday some six prospective buyers will be here and it is Mr. Forsythe’s intention to show each the invoice and then to sell to the highest bidder. It will not be known until after this sale Is made whether or not the stock will be retained in Rensselaer or moved away. The long and honorable career of Mr. Forsythe and his wife in business in Rensselaer has made them “many friends, who will regret that they are now out of business. As previously stated they have purchased a large farm near town and will travel extensively but will continue to make this city their home.
