Dak., hear which city he has a brother living and where he will remain for an indefinite period. A valentine social given by the Christian Endeavor Society of the Christian church in the pprlors Monday evening attracted about one hundred young people and proved very enjoyable. Following the serving of refreshments a distribution of valentines wall made and mirth ran high as the missives, both sentimental and comic, passed among the young folks. Chas. Robinson and wife came up from Battle Ground Sunday and will remain here for about two weeks visiting his mother, Mrs. G. M. Robinson, and family, and then depart for Sturgis, S. Dak., where they expect to take out a claim. Their daughter will remain in school at Battle Ground until the end of the term and probably' return here next winter to attend our school. It is quite probable that his brother, Vern Robinson, and wife will accompany them to Sturgis and also take odt a claim.
City Clerk Chas. ~Morlan will leave this afternoon for Rugby, N. Dak., where he will be joined by his brother, Frank, and together they will go on a prospecting trip to Choteau county, Montana. Frank was yery successful in a claim which he proved up in North Dakota and he has long desired that Chftrley should take out a claim and he induced his brother to make one previous trip into the northwest. While Charley’s stay will be of an uncertain length, it may terminate in his taking out a claim and possibly in his brother Frank making -an investment in Montana. During his absence the city clerkship will be in charge of Mrs. A. Halleck, who will have the office at the law office of her husband. Forest Morlan will act as Janitor of the court house during the absence of his father.
