A new edecational building at Cbetham Hill, England, was dedicated Thursday, March 8th, Revs. T. Jackson, Dr. Dixon, and Dr. Hannah, being present and participated in the exercises. In reply to a moat tender and affectionate address, tendered this veteran Wesleyan ministerial trio, Rev. Thomas Jackson laid that 'he had been a Methodist preacher for nearly sixty-two years; and if he had . his life to beino over again, he should - make the same choice. He had been a ' hard reader, and had gone through ,: many thousand volumes. The n ore he studied, especially in the Bible, the , deeper was his convictions that the Metbodist doctrine was true, and the Methodist discipline was in character Scriptural, and in tendency holy. . Long life, he believed, was generally sought by mankind; but he must say that almost every day he trembled at the recollections of his past life , His only hope was in the atonement, and his heart went along with them this morning in inging, , ; i - friend ofstensrs, spotless Lmb, ' ' Thy blood was tbd for mo." He was thankful to 'say that now, in his eighty-third year, and with bis many mental infirmities, he had no disease, and was never in better health. He never had a melancholy hour. Ha was

He was full of the hope of immortality, and contemplated the future without alarm and without dread, believing in his final acceptance with God. The connection had seen glorious days, and would see more glorious still. He was v going to heaven, and might not see them . here; but there be should look on them - .with deepest interest He trembled for 'those boys in theology who rejected the -doctrine of Christ's atonement. God was their Lawgiver, as well as, their Father, and could have no dealings with his apostate offspring, except through the medium of the slain Lamb. He trusted that the Methodiste woold hold - to this doctrine while the sun and moon endure..'- : ' - "
