John Meyers, and his" wife Nancy, got into a snarl over a small financial affair, and John, aa the testimony goes, slapped Nancy in the face, which waa decidedly nngallant in John. Mr. Gibson Doup and Miss Anna Farrell were out riding, when the horse, a very spirited animal, frightensd aad became perfectly unmanageable. , While tbe horse was running at fall speed, Mr. Doup was thrown backwards from tbe lur; acd qaite severely stunned; bat Mus rarrell remained in tbe boggy unul, while turning a corner suddenly, be was precipitated from the carriage and entangled in the wheel by her crinoline. She was carried some distance itt this manner, but became loosened as the borse waa crossing the milt race, where she was left, in. ail probability, already dead. .The horse continued over tbe river, and the friends of the lady searched tbe river bed until nearly mid night, when by , accident she was dis covered in the race, her head most shock ingly mangled.
