An appendix, embracing a full narrative of . this remarkable affair, will be added to onr forthcoming new history. He will speak in the evening at the Wigwam, at 7 o'clock. It is expected that an immense crowd will be in attendance. The Crescent City Silver Band, in full force, will be out, aud the Glee Club have several most excellent sons pre pared for the occasion'. A glorious good time may be expected. The City Directory. Mr. H.T. Ben nett, of the firm of Williama 4 Co., of Cincinnati, is now in the city for the purpose of getting up a new directory for the season of 1SG4 and '65. We would call the attention of oar merchants and citizens to this enterprise, as the constant additions and changec among our business houses demand iti and urge a liberal subscription. , The low, price .of the book $2.00 and the facilities afforded to our merchants in the way of valuable advertisements, ought, especially, to demand their attention. Logic. Because one or two New York regiments gave a majority oi votes to McClellan the IW arrives at the con clusion that all the regiments gave him majorities. Ky the same logic, Decause Sullivan, Dubois, Allen, and Franklin counties gave Democratic majorities at the late election, therefore, all the counties in the S:ate gave a majority for the McClellan ticket. Sapiens homo. FLrrriRiso Eabxt. We learn that sa innocent Utile paragraph of ours in relation to a recent defection and imbroglio in the ranks of .the Mike CleUan party in this city, has produced a fluttering already in the camp of the Philistines. As we mentioned no names, and made but a vague allusion, founded on private information, it would seemhat our "bow, drawn at a venture," sent its arrow straight to the mark. . which they were received by the Egyptians, and greatly encouraged by seeing the.good work progressing throagh their instrumentality. The meetings addressed by Generals Logan, Haynie, and Col. Phillips have been- coanetd by thousands, and the ladies, God bless them, are doing their whole duty in the upbaildlag'of oar po litical Zion. Grand torch-light proces sions with transparencies, banners, glee clubs, 4c, 4c, -were held each night, aad the deoongtrations carried terror and dismay to the hearts of the Miks Ciellen Democracy. . Their rage and mortification became so great that they threw rocks into the proce.iionj, de siroying transparencies striking chil dren in .their : mother's arms, ladies I their faces, aud members of the crowd ' promiscuously. The Union men, bead ed by the gallant, battle-scarred hero, Gen. The people can afford to wait, as we propose to give them work of pttrolean rich uess. The remarkable sayings of one ef the characters introduced, namely: iving Richard'c fool, is said, by visitors, to be superlatively excellent and fanny. Orders are flowing in on us fast, and we expect to issue 100,000 copies in the first edition, and have the work stereo typed. More Soaoura. Scott township is fast becoming a second Louisiana. Zeal sot Accoedixo to Kxowledob. We heard a heavy joke yesterday on a sprig of a counter-jumper of the Cop perhead persuasion, that is too good to keep. An honest, blunt old farmer, who wears plain clothes, with his wife, was in the bouse of one of our leading merchants, and the Madame had selected quite a bill of goods, when the aforesaid yonog gentlemen talesman, deeming it his duty to forward the interests of his favorite, the peerless hero of Antietam the boy in Bine little Mike Clellan broached the subject of politics.
