Sterling's men, 35th Kentucky Cavalry, came up with a band of ennete's guerrilla thieves on Saturday, between TJniontown and Morganfield, killing nine of the marauding scoundrels. None of Sterling's men were in. jured. The gallant boys of the 35th art now after Bennetts and hit horee-thieves in reel earnest, and will unquestionably meVe Kentucky too hot to hold them. Tie guerrillas were in Cniontown on Friday , and Saturday, and were feaited and toasted by the citizens, at we learn. The gunboat Fairplay earns along, threw a few shells after them, but with what results we have not ascertained. The tinclads are plying very diligently along the river now, hence to Southland. Among the killed at Uniontown, was the notorious Capt Rots, and bis First Lieutenant, two of the moat pestiferious scoundrels in existence. Tns ftixTWH. Splebdid Mesic. We are indebted to our old friend John Hogarth' Lozier for a copy of bis spleoded sonj, " Yes our Flag is still Advsnc:ng"being the answer to one published" by him some' time io entitled: " Is our flag Still advancing?' Both songs are founded upon .the celebrated charge by Hooker's men upon the heights of Lookout Mountain, which were gallantly stormed and carried at the point of the bayonet. The poet enters into the' spirit of the charge, and versifies the heroic event in stirring songs. Another song, entitled " Will the New Year come to-night, Mamma?" has been forwarded to us by those enterprising publishers, D. P. Fauld.4 Co., Louisville. We have not yet had an opportunity of hearing it sung, but have no doubt it is charming. The words are by Miss Cora Eager and the music by farces Perry. We presume our musical friends, Warren k Conyngtoa have a supply of the-e eongs. If not they can quickly order them. Tbbatbe. There was a crowded house on Saturday niLt at Masonic Hall, and all were charmed and delighted with the beautiful play of Madeline. Miss Fanny B. Price is nightly reaping fresh laurels and winning new hearts by her extraordinary talents, which predict tit her a dazzling future.' Mr. Holland) also is winning crowds of admirers by' bis splendid performances; and indeed the whole company are making the most favorable' impression on all who see them. Mr. llanchett, we regret to say, is still sick, bet is improving, and we hope soon to see " Richard himself again." A delightful bill is presented for tonight, and a full crowd will unfjoestionsbly greet it. .
