The Washington correspondent of the Cincinnati Gazette says both Generals McCook and Crittenden have been relieved of their commands in the army of the Cumberland and ordered before a Court of Inquiry to investigate their conduct in the recent battles in Georgia. Gen. Rosecrans is understood to have made serious complaints against them in his dispatches. Gen. McCook has always been unfortunate. Kven when the army won great victories, his corps, by some management, always lost its share of the glory. At Perry vi lie. he came near beinj annihilated, and at Stone River, his corps was crushed before it had made any fight that could be dignified by that name. And now at Chicka nauga we have the same old story. McCook is to the army what an unlucky ship 13 io sailors. The Nashville Union thinks from statements furnished it by a citizen of Cleveland, East Tennessee, who had ! excellent opportunities for knowing what he states, that the rebels brought about 8 .000 troops into the late battle of Chicamauga. Bragg's force of 25,000 was reinforced by 10,000 undar Buckner, 10,000 under Breckenridge, 21,000 under Longstreet, 3,000 under Johnston and 15.000 Georgia troops. The rebels were perfectly confident of recovering Chattanooga, and utterly destroying Ros ecrans. They consider the result of the battle a jrreat disaster to the cause. Roberts, with forty Confederate soldiers, at that point, resulting in the capture of four and the killing of two or three traitors, who have sent to Trap Hill for reinforcements. Colonel Sharp, of the Seventy-first North Carolina militia, having been called on to sustain the Confederate authorities, is sending forward militia to the support of Lieut. Roberts, who expected a pitched battle yesterday. DESERTERS IN ARMS. The Raleigh Register of the 10th, ays: "The Twenty-first regiment North Carolina troops left this city on Monday for some point west of here." Their mis sion, we presume, is te arrest deserters, wnu, iu organ zea oanas, are in some counties Lidding defiance to the law. Another regiment, we hear, is soon to be brought to this State on the same errand. These men who ought to be in place with either Lee or Bragg to help them secure a victory over the accursed Yankee foe (one real victory on either line would, we believe, eecure us peace on the basis of independence) are sent away from the army to hunt and catch men who have been encouraged to desert Such is the fruit of the lessons of bad men and tories, of peace-on-any-terms men and reconstruetionists. The following also appears in the Charlotte Bulletin: " Vigilance Committee of Charlotte: There is work for you to do. We are in the midst of a revolution. We have tories in our midst. The army, wo arc assured, is in spleudid plight for tightin?, and all are confident of ultimate complete success. It is pretty clearly ascertained that Gen. He states that there are about 11,000 troops in the neighborhood of Richmond. The Merrimac is lying near Jones' Bluff. The Lady Davis is fully iron-plated. A third iron-clad is on the stocks and five 8mall gunboats are near the bluff. Nearly all the sailors there, about oOO, have been sent to Charleston under L'apt. Pegram. MARRIED.
