.OCTOBER 3, PC AWFULLY SiYJELl." The Now York correspondent of tlio Philadelphia Telegraph writes: Some sweet fashions for young men are out. One of these is the lowrecked shirt, so low, indeed, that the shou'dcr blades arc all but risible, and the Adam's apple is fully revealed, nestling in virgin purity amid a EO ik of linen. The masculine throat La.- been too long concealed, and, aiuone expressions of feminine admiration, we may expect this autumn to hear, in addition to "Yhat handsome teeth Mr. So-and-so has got," the corresponding remark, 'Tea, nr.' dear, and what a deliciou3 neck! ' Shirt fronts, too, are elaborately em broidered. and lined with rose colore silk. At jewelers', masculine bracelets, inscribed with memorial names and dates, are displayed, and even handkerchief rings, for full dress occasions. Add to these the Fra Diavolo hat, with peacock's plume, checked vest patterns with all possible shades in combination, and patterns for trowsers, consisting of small squares, rainbow in hue, underlying larger ones. Add to these again buU tons of pearl, amethyst and carbuncle, and it will easily be understood that the male belle is just as"finnicky " as the female one about personal adornments. I say nothing of masculine powders and cosmetics', because this 13 a theme of which nothing is supposed to be known; but I simply put the question whether the creature who supports bracelets, and wears a low necked shirt for tha purpose of displaying a snowy bo , that is, throat, is not equally susceptible to the blandishments dormant in rouge rinaigre and oxide of bie -muth? From the Home Journal G2STLEMEVS CLOTHKS. The latest Xoreltj la that Line. We have ascertained from the proper authorities iu this ci ty and London some few particulars regarding tho fashions for gentlemen this season. For balls, parties, receptions and the German, the usual full suit of black broadcloth will continue to be en regie, all reports to tho contrary notwithstanding. Some of the daily and weekly papers have asserted that blue coats, with velvet collars and gilt buttons, would be the prevailing Btyle, but gentlemen will not subject themselves to comment and ridicule by appearing in a dress of this description ; they will adhere to the customary black dress-coat, vest and trousers. Double-breasted frock-coats, with wide, rolling collars, will be ia vogue for English weddings, dejeuners, informal receptions, calls, tho theatre, or promenade, , The colors will be dark blue, black and dark brown. ft;pped cloth, bound with wide English braid, in imitation of the Prince Arthur style, entire suits of English and French plaids will be in vogue; also the eut-a-way coat, Canadian sack and half frock, the materials being meltons m and plain beavers of dark and quiet shades. Sack and frock overcoats will be fashionable. Single-breasted sack coats will be short and with fly front, while tho frock will be still shorter, double-breasted and without side pockets. The materials will be meltons, beavers, and rouh materials of various shades. Velret and velveteen sack coats are to be worn for sporting, for tho races and riding always with light colored trowacrs. Clack, dark green, and brown velvet appear to bo popular colors for coats. Pantaloons will continue to be worn tight to the knee, and from thence eloping to the top of the boot. Stripes are out of 6tyfe superseded by light gray English plaid. Vest3 will be worn both Bingle and double-breasted, cut low, with plain rolling collars. Evening vests should be cut low. with rolling crilar3 and two buttons. White cassinierrt and duck vests will be worn, with frock coats for call?, the opera, or English entertainments. Scarfs of the Lord Stanley stylo will continue in popularity; also the royal yacht tie, of blue black, brown and lavender. Neckties are out of date, and white cravats have been given over to waiters exclusively. Silk hats, we are told, have bell crowns, medium brims, with round curls and rather wide bands altogether a very handsome head covering. Prime, oa Broadway, near Eighth Street, takes ciedtt for introducing the Warwick hat. which may now be had almost anvwbere. and whieh promises to be come the rage this wintor. It is a low crowned felt hat, with broad and stiff brim, and black silk band reach me almost to the crown, iney are made in several dark colors. The low-crowned hats of the Oxford. Derby and Jerome style will continue in fashion. Boots and shoes, will be made with round toes. Gloves for the stree are light colored, and ; for ball, opera, concert, reception and German, white: lavender or light straw o !r3 r.re in vogue. Bright shades 't g'ove s should never be worn witn a f "ess suit, nor white or lavender color for ordinary' street wear. COMMISSION CAIlli. IIMCHH.KISIIKBT. : JOL1C3 YATRXX fAl'l. K.XOKTIVtB. t S.
