Early Fall Styles In Bonnets, flats,

' a. -

l From the New York Post, August 27. : Tho importers have ; this ! week

brought out. the Paris novelties in bonnets, hats, flowers, feathers, ribr bons, &c The handsomest bonnets and most modified to, suite general occasions, particularly striking styles, have been selected by our city milli

ners from which to pattern designs

for the opening of next month. Many

ot these will probably pc lor country wear. -

There ia an-euort to enlarge the

bonnet, but it is doubtful if it will be successful . this season. ,One thing, however, rejoices the hearts of the milliners; the latest novelties can not be made by the uninitiated, but will require the artistic touch of an experienced hand. There is a variety cf shapes, some fitting closely to the head in lront, and others being 'diadem shape with a coronal of flowers and leaves. ' A description of a1 few styles wili give an idea of what the coming bonnet is to be. A new fashion is in lavender siik, puffed over a small laco frame. Across the front, and resting back upon the puffs, is a strip of cherry satin, rounded at the corners, and set on in box plaits, the upper side edged with a narrow fluting of cherry satin. A wide plaiting is also at the back, and

narrow white blond runs arounutno bonnet. There are short cheiry strings that tic under the chignon, and, the

bridle of lavender s;!k is lined with c.hprry batin, ind has a bow of ribbon on one side just above the center. A beautiful pink rose, with clusters . of

cluster ot velvet leaves on the ton and

a black lace circlet in front. ' A black

velvet is made plain over tho frame.

with' 'a 'wide fold of scarlet ; velvet across the front that is knotted in tho center. From this , knot shade

plumes droop over tho side, and are

clasped to tho .bonnet by a tuft, of

black and creen. There is a fall of

lace at the buck, and ribbons strings. A purple velvet has a fluted fold in front and bensath this, resting upon the head, is a row of white blond;' the bridle also has blonde edging, and there aro purple tics at the ' back. A white feather and a white aigrette coniple'e the triuiming.' A drab velvet with green trimmings and green plumes was much admired. .

A dark brown velvet has a standing puff across the center, with ia fall of black lace at the back, dark brown velvet flowers, , with a golden and brown aigrette. " ' . R0U.ND HATS. White and drab French felt hats of a superior quality have been largely imported in a variety of shapes. It is not probable, that felt will be extensively worn, yet they arc sought af-! ter afcthis season, aud for bo' other reason than to see ' something of what the styles are to be in round hats. Some of these shapes arc becoming, and others are very trying te even a pretty laee, and should never surmount a plain one. One shape has the ciowu sloping up from the brim, with a high, smalt center; the biimi turned up, and wider at the sides than front and back. Then there is the turban, the saucer shape and others, er,ch finding admirers. The brown straws will bo fashionable for Fall wear, and they are also , in various shapes.; - A pretty one has a narrow brim, the edge turned up;.1 the whole' brita should be bound with. 'velvet and thehat covered with drooping ' feathers aud pretty aigrette. If tastfully trimmed those bats aro stylish. On somci of these hats auturnu tinted leaves and flowers are worn. V' ",- ' " . Little fropieal birds with glossy plumage, will be worn on the round hats, as well as plumes ' of - the greb skin, &.C. - ' '", ; ;' ' The hair is: worn lower on the back of the head -in Paris, the herald of the attempt to introduc bonnets with crown?:. --'
