Sr-EAKlMiof n, pretended mistake in Mr. Semosin"s German card, the Shaskus Boys ah k whether a man, iho, in subtracting G2 from CO produces a remainder of 27; is competent i'or Councilman. Yc would like to have their opinion whether a man who votes for President, in New York City, in Novembcr13fi3,and does not vote in Kvaosville at the April election, 13f.9, ' 7,7for Coun-eiimaa at that election? er-
Tho City ranvass. V havelahorel hard during the canvas? to convince the people: of Kvansviile that it wa their true in-tcre.-t to elect members of the City Council who woull be able to prevent

cry are dissatisfied with Mr. VTalkes as "Mayor, and desire to elect gentlemen, Couccilmen who will compel him tr disburse the revenues of the city nceor-llntr to law during the present vear. 3Ir. "Walker, is also aware of thi.4 fact. Coneqacutly he is not willin? to leave the issue with the Lona fide voters of the city. Some tiro hundred voters hive been imparted tVo tie city for the purpose of pre
venting the citiz?R3 from regulating and controlling their own affairs. Our people have seen thess men thronging our streets. They have bec-a - provided boardiog places in doubtful Ward?, and some of them hive been registered as livinp at houses where thty do not live. It is expected that Republican challengers will familiarize them?elves.with these "floater," and be ready to prevent thf.ir voting. But such an unblushing attempt to defraud the tax payers of the city of the right to choose their own public servants ought to arou-e a:i c donation that woui-i overwhelm the perpetrators of the fraud. We submit the whole matter to the Judgment of the tax payers and voters, believing that they understand their own interests, ancljwiil act accordingly. CITY VOTI. lJLAt.ES.

Tlie above items are s tioia Mayor Walker's
'.THE; SUMMARY. 1. THAT shortly after our appointment by tho Republican Executive Coraicittee of Evansville, we were informed by His Honor the Mayor that he would not meet with us. That we three several times trans-
referred to, in his Mavor's office.
2. THAT by exchanging bonds with George Lant, bearing six (C) per cent, interest, not due at the time, such exchange was made for bonds bearing teu (1U) per cent., the Mayor for the city made a very injudicious trade, and unnecessarily lost money. 3. THAT the present Treasurer, John 1). Roche, received rom his predecessor the sum of $747 0G, as shown by both the Treasurer's and Clerk's books, and the Treasurer's receipt, and not $247 Oo, as shown by the Mayor in his Report. 4. THAT such part of the Mayor's
Report as relers to the item or gas, shows an expenditure uuder that head for (f) nine months only, except the item of " lighting," and that it is unfair to contrast therewith the amount of expenditure under the same head for the previous year, when the latttr comprises a period of thirteja (13) months, and when the amounts sp. nc lor the extensions of mains and erection of posts exceeded that of tbe last year by $-1,709. 5. THAT the Mayor, duriog the past year, borrowed troai banks on the
city a credit 0,3i2 lb, ol winch sum not one cent was placed in the Treasury of the city and disburseel according to law. And that while he reports the amount due by the city to banks, at the date of Lm report, to be $43,094 G5, the city's books only show an indebtedness of S2.53G 64. 6. THAT the City Clerk's books agree with those of the City Treasurer except asto seven items, amounting in the aggregate to $473 43, This difference is explained by the fact that moneys are paid into the Treasury on accouuts, such as cemetery lots, licenses, &c, and the receipts not at the time reported to the Clerk, the Clerk cannot of course charge tie
Treasurer until tbe .treasurers receipt is brought to him; and after noting the several amounts acknowledged by the Treasurer to have been received by him, and the receipts not handed to the Clerk, it reduces the above apparent discrepancy of $473 43 to twenty cents, whieh is the exact difference between the accouuts of tho Treasurer and Clerk.
7. THAT the Mayor reports having
durinsr the nast year . issued bonds
amounting to $150,023 43, while the Citv's Ledjrer shows only a record of
$39,421 03, making a discrepancy of
$91 2u2 43. which can only be ex-
nlained bv referring to the book iu
which the bonds issued by the city
are registered. 8. THAT when the Mayor, in his R
port, institutes a comparison as to the item of attorneys' fees, he &ho? as
much smaller sum expended in 1608
than there was expended in 1S07, aud
he therefore claims credit, lie attempts wrongfully to mislead, in as much as the total amount accruing
and expended for attorneys' le
nroner lor lbb amounted only to
$742, while an amount ot $3,300 was
paid Messrs. Hendricks and Baker in
matters ot tho J?. Jj. Xvailroad, lor ser
vices extending . over a- term ot six vears. and charged to the account oi
the Straight Lins Railroad, where it
nroDerlv belongs
9. THAT the Mayor, in his written
communication, advised the Coucei
to levy for the E. & C. R. R. interest
a tax ot 20 cents on the fclUiJ, yield
ing Twenty-nve J nousana ioiiars, ($23,000), when only Two. Thousand
Three Hundred and xen Uoilars
($2,310), or one-tenth of that amount
was required. 10. T ii AT the Mayor reports an i n
debtednes3 of the city to the teachers
in the Public Schools, on the 13th or
April, 1868, amounting to $8,10t
when the superintendents book
show that the teachers had beef raid
up in full to March 1st, 1808. leaving
due them tor one m nth :i,7uu only That the Mayor reports an inJebt
edness to the Fire Department, on the 13th April, of $1,300, which did not
then exist, as shown by Mr. Ileilman's testimony before your committee. That tho Mayor reports an indebtedness, on thel3ih April, 1S0S, on account of gravelling on Fourth Street, amounting to $8,381 G3, when in reality there was due upon said work at that date only $3,348 7G, ail of which amount, except for street crossiDgs, was charged up to real estate and collected, as is presumable. 11.
