The Su preme Uourt ct this .District has, in obedience to an order of the 'United States Supreme Court; restricting the order, debarring Mr. Isradley iiom practice in the court, but held-that this undcrruling of the Supreme Court of the United States did not restoro Mr. IJradley to the C"roinal Court when Judge Jt'isher expelled him. It now makes a rule that no ono suspended in ono court f the District shall practice in any of the branches of the Supreme Court pf this District, thus practically leaving Bradley where he was before the United States Su preme Court issued the ma-iu7vnmit. -JKdward D. Oa ieacijingjv point near Kiowa Creek, forty-one iiles east ol the depot, a trail if about fifty lodcos of Choyenno Indians was struck, which was fol lowed over to the nortu lorlc or lied River, thence down that stream, the trail constantly increasing; till it became very large. The trail was hotly pursued. The Indians abandoned all iheir surplus property. The village was very rich, containing over five tons of buffalo meat, one hundred bushels of corn; also, flour, meal, colTee, sugar, soap, cookinp, raterjsils, -mats, pa rfl echo robe?, and the paraphenalia of a rich Indian town. The Indians kept up the fighting daring the day aud th . poxt morning, but there was not much fight in them. Three enlisted men were wouuded, one mortal y. The number of Indians which weie killed is unknown. . ' '. Col. Evans topk the main trail again on the 20th, which led west, but being out of provisions, except beef, had to give it up. The greatest praise is due Col. Evans and his com mand. It marched 21 days in the snow and intensely cold weather, without tents of any kind, and finally struck-tbis effective and heavy blow. 1 bad known, through (Jen. Ilazen aud. the ludiaos, - of this uriraud'ing village. It . was composed mostly of individual.-; from the tribe of .ConianoilCR. The trail led into a canon near the junction of the Elm ('reck and the Salt F ork, of ihe Ked lliver, when Cvlonel Evans made a detour to pass around. the canon into which the trail led, and which brought him at noon On Christmas day into a large village of. Coinanches- of sixty lodges, just south of this junction of Salt. Fork with Elm Creek, which was totally destroyed. The Indians attacked this advance, but were driven from their village with tho loss of everything it contained, tho women and children escaping by 'hem hastily 'pat on the horsey of the warriors, in some cases as many as fuur on a hor.se. , 1 can assure the Cenoral that he need not expect a continuance ol' murders and. robberies Irom the Indians in the military department herefi!tcr, if one can judge from the demoralization which this winter's campaign has produced among them. An Aet to extend the laws of tho United States relating to Customs, Commerce, and Navigation over the Territory ceded to tlie United States by Russia, to establish a Collection District therein, and for other purjwses. lie in enaeted by . the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the laws of the United Spates relating to customs, commerce, and navigation be, and the same art; hereby, extended to and Over air the mainbmd, islands, and waters of the territory ceded to the United States by the Emperor of Russia by treaty concluded at Washington on the thirtieth day of March, anno Domini eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, so far as the Fame may be applicable thereto. Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That all of the said territory, with its ports, harbors, bays, rivers, and wafers, shall constitute a customs collection district, to bo called the district of Alaska, for which said district a port of entry shall be established at some convenient point to be designated by the President, nt or near the town of Sitka or New Archangel, and a collector of customs shall be appointed by the President, by and with tho advice and consent of the Seuate, who thall reside at the said port cf entry, and who shall ; receive an annual salary of two thousand live hundred dollars, in addition to the usual legal fees and emoluments of the otlice. Rut his entire compensation shall not exceed four thousand dollars per annum, or a proportionate sum for a less period of time. Sec. 3. That all the provisions of section eiht of the act of .July twenty-eight, eighteen hundred and sixty-six, entitled '"An I act to protect the reverue, ntid for other purposes," aud tho forms and modes by that section nnd the twelfth section of the act of March thrco, eighteen hundred and sixtythree, thei"MU referred to, prescribed for prosecuting suits, withholding executions, nnd pnyinar judgments against officers of the IJnued States, or other persons eng g'-d in executing the acts to capture l and abandoned property, shall extend and be applied to all suits and proceedings (except tlo-c in bolmlf of the United States) which have been brought, or may hereafter be brought, aaaiust any officer or agent cf tin: government, civil or military, for acts doueduriug the rebellion while acting by virtue or under color of his office or employment ; and every defendant in such suit or proceeding having made full defence thereto, and having untitled the Attorney-Genera I ol the United States to appear anil defend the same, shall be entitled to the full benefit and protection provided in said section for ollicors and accnts of the government engaged in the collection of tho public revenue; and any defendant being aggrieved by any order or direction, certificate, ruling, or judgment of any court made or had in any such proceeding, may except thercio and appeal therefrom to the Supremo Court of the United States, and havo the questions arising there heard and determined. Sec. 2. And bo it further enacted. That no ac.ion or suit rh.ill be maintained iu any court of the United States, or of any State thereof, in the name or in the behalf or interest of any alien, ogiinst the United States, or any jierson, for or ou account of any act done or omitted to be done by ruch person as an officer or agent of the United States, in the administration of the act of Congress entitled "An act to provide for the collection of abandoned property and for tlie proventioa of frauds iu insurrectionary . districts within the United States," approved March twelve, eighteen hundred and sixtythree, or of the act of Congress entitled "An act in addition to the several acts concerning commercial intercourse between loyal and insurrectionary Statcs,and to provide for the collection of captured and abondoncd property, and the prevention of frauds in States declared in insurrection," rpproved July two, eighteen hundred aud sixty-lour, or in virtue or under color of the nets of Congress d foresaid, or any other acts of Congresu relative to t he said insurrectionary States, or to persons or property therein and to any action or buit which may have been heretofore, or shall hereafter be. instituted by. auy alien against the United States, or any such person as aforesaid, on accouut of auy act
