DUttnguMUed Accessions. The revolutionary bowlings ot Wade Hampton, Cobb, Toombs, Bex. II ill, Forrest, and the incen diary rebel press of the South, are creating alarm among the peaceably disposed Democrats of that section la addition to Chief Justice Pear son, of North Carolina, Hon. Na THANIEL Boyden, the only Demo cratic member of Congress from that State, has announced his intention to support Grant and Colfax; and in Virrinia, Hon. Robert Dolling, ono of the most eminent citizens of that State, and who is connected by mar riage with the Lee family, has an nounced his purpose to oppose the Democratic nominations, because their success would embroil the countrv in war. while the election of Grant will be a-pledgo of lasting peace. We quote the letter of Mr Bollinci, addressed to the Chairman of the Republican Central Committee of Virginia, lie says: Sir I have the honor to acknowl etUe the invitation of your committee to address the urant ana i;pitax rati fication meeting to be held in Rich niond on the 25th instant, and would gladly accept it, but tor my unavoid able absence lrom the Mate at th time. For all tho poverty, anguish and onpression which the people of if i I .1 I. IJ .1. 1 v lrginia ana me wnuie ouuiu nave tn dured with unexampled fortitude from April 17, 18(51, down to this very moment, the Democratic party is, in inv liumblo judgment, wholly respon siblc; and all the odium which they have succeeded in attaching to th Republican party the Democracy richly deserve. The peace and prosperity of tho whole country and the existence of tho Federal Union is now more defiantly threatened than in liiliO. Then warlike intent was indignantly disclaimed. To-day it is publicly declared that," secession is not dead; that the lost cansa is to bo regained, ' and that in the event of the election of t-'cymour aad Blair it is substantially declared that tho ' Federal amy shall be compelled to subvert the loyal State Governments now established. Neither by the bullet nor the ballot can thoso State Governments be subverted for some time to come, without involving the wholo country in a war of Hiieh magnitude and horror .that in comparison with it the late rebellion was a pastime. In fact the Democracy are already as bad as their word, and even now a merciless, savage wartare, to the full extent of their power, is waged upon all men, white or black, native or foreign born, who -do not enlist under their bauner. Slavery more intolerable than that which has just passed awny, exists in full force throughout Virginia the enslavement of the human mind. The exercise of the right of private judgment and f reedom of speech is sought to bo punished or controlled by the most inhuman denunciations, slanders and threats ot social, political and commercial outlawry. Blair pledires war Grant pledges peace, and I honestly believe that upon the election ot lien Grant the peace and happiness ot our people wholly depend. "Very respectfully yours, "Robert Rolling. ScjmjurV lrophi'sjr and CompU- . nienls. About four years ago Horatio Seymour made a speech in Milwau kce, in which we find the following . passage : ; ; ; ; . ; , . . "The Administration has lost faith in tho people of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan, and they have Ixst faith tn the Administration. If its ft' to mien ta mis war, it is because the Administration ha$ established a xlic!) which has rendered intffectual our ejorts in the. field. The result ol the cotuiog elections involves the liberty of our country. It ia to decide whether you are to bo eafe in your own homes and by your own firesides; and thure is no greater national trouble than that which penetrates the home and reaches the firenide. Or eater questions, graver questions. questions which come home more di rectly to the hearts aud interests of men, have never been submitted tQ the people lor their arbitration; and in their decision, that which is for the interest of Democrats is also for the iutcrcst of Kepubl ictus. We believe we are to triumph in tlic context. . No vian can d aiLt this who saw tchat I 10 in Chicago. It was the largest number 01 men my eyes ever rested upon." It is evident that whatever his other accomplishments may be, prophesy is not Mr. Seymour's forte. But the most significant passage is-what he says in regard to our having "failed in this war." That " if " is air-im-portant. Mr. Seymour is predicting with respect to the coming elections. But his predictions, liko those with reference to the war, will not bo fulfilled. ' ' The New York Evening Post, having expressed a doubt as to which way Illinois will go in NovembeV, tho Chicago Tribune disposes of the question in short meter, thusi Daly mindful of the danger of overconfidence, we feel warranted in say. ing that if the vote were taken to-day Grant and Uolfax would have not less than thirty thousand majority in Illinois. We cannot recall a campaign in which the Kepublican party was more enthusiastic or in better fighting trim. The meetings are everywhere attended by unprecedented crowds. The party is compact and resolute in every part of tho field. "Nine-tenths of the soldiers we eager to cast their ballots for their . General. la the

J. tie committc.Favs : The number of outrages that have been Dernetrated in many counties of Middle and West Tennessee, during the Dsst few months, have been bo numerous, and of such'an aggravated character, as almost baffles investiga tion. In these counties a reign of terror exists, which is so absolute in ita nature; that the best cf citizens are unable ornnwilhntt to cive tree ex pression to their opinions.. Th8 terror inspired by the-seeret organiza tion known as tbe Ivu-JbUux ivian, is so treat that the officers of the law are powerless to execute its provis ions, to discharge their duties, or to brrog the guilty perpetrators 01 these outrages to tbe pumshn:ent they de serve. 1 heir stealthy movements are generally made under, cover of the night, and under masks or disguises, which render their identification dif ficult, if not impossible. Added to the secrecy which envel opes their operations, 19 the fact that no miormation or their murderous acts can be obtained without . tho greatest difficulty and danger in the localities where they are committed. No one dares to inform upon them or to take any measures to bring them to punishment, because no such one can tell but he may be the next victim of their animosity. lhe members of. this organization: with -their friends, aiders and abettors, take especiai.'pains to conceal their operatioas. . f : lhe moving principle by which tuey . are actuated appears to be hostility to the ctate and national authorities, and iu the ; minds 'of these men to have voted for " Brownlow " or the Kepublican ticket," or to be a Radical,"- is the greatest of crimes. Your comniitteo believe that during the the past .six months the murders in Tennessee, to say nothing cf other outrages, would average one per day, or one for every twenty-four hours; that in th great majority of cases they have been perpetrated by the Klan referred to, and few, if any, have been brought to punishment. A number of counties in the State are entire ly at the mercy of this organization and roving bands of nightly marauders bid defiance to the civil authorities, and threaten-- to drive out every man,' white . or black, who does not submit to their arbitrary dictation. To add to the general lawlessness of these communities, bad men of every description? take advantage of the circumstances, surrounding them, and perpetrate acts of violence, from personal or' pecusiary motives, under the plea or political necessity. Colored laborers have bean driven from their-homcs by dishonest land owners, inorder to deprive them of their share of the crop they cultivated and the 'wages they have justly earned bv their labor. An editorial letter in the Washing ton Chronict". presents a careful and close analysis of the political pros?ects in 1 ennsylvania, as seen lrom a 'ennsylvanian standpoint Pennsyl vania has never been so united, not even in 18G1. Here, as . elsewhere, Grant ia the chosen man. ' 'The unity is so far greater than in 1SG4, that though the State then gave Mr. Jjincoln 20,075 majority, it will now give General Grant at least 3U.UW. Every nomination in the State has been made unanimously, and the whore party, is in line, working for the heaviest vote yAwia li ort Trio n xr In lsbT the dem ocrats bad many advantages. "The Republican politicians excluded the soldiers from the best places on their ticket in this city, and the Democrats took advantage of the mistalcft. and cave the soldiers their best nominations, while a large body of Republican lawyers were pledged to the Democratic candidate tor law judge of one of our local courts, and a still larger number tor the Jjemocratie candidate tor supreme Judge in the State. The organization of the llonublicans is verv thorough. There are two State Committees, the Republican and the Union Soldiers the first under ex-Speaker Grow, the sec ond under Gen; C II. T. Collins. The Union League of Philadelphia is most efficient. It sends hundreds 01 thousands or documents all over the State, and its rolls contain tho names of more than 2.000 citizens of the highest character, representing all tho interests of society and all the professions and trades, and every day adds to its uselulness in all patriotic works. Geouqk Wilkes gives this charac teristic advice to a friend who wants to "hedge" his bets, in tho last New York Spirit of the Times: - ' "IIOWTO 'IlEDUE' ON T1IK I'ttKSI DENTIAL h. LECTION. A subscriber, who desires to bet on the election 0 Grant to the extent of five thousand dollars, inquires of us whether we can givo him some point on tho other side by which he can safely 'hedge;' in other word,-; make some counter bct which will, in soma sort, protect his money. Our friend is too prudent. We would not advise him to hedge at all; but if he wants to make hii betting as nearly a sure thirg as possible, we would advise him. after laying out his five thousand dollars on Grant, to invest about one hundred dollars in buying Confederate bonds, lie can secure about ten. thousand dollars worth of them ' for about the sum we name, andr if Seymour: and Blair should be elected they would soon be worth fifty cents on .the dollar."
