Many of our readers will remember Mr. John Gerviu, who, for a long time, was employed ou the wharf boat of Messrs. Cox & Humphrey. He is now a cnizen of Hopkins County, Kentucky, where, a few days ago, iu company with Dr. Crannell, he discovered a den of rattlesnakes, from which they took and killed over one hundred rattlesnakes, besides a few of other species. In addition to those killed Mr. Gervin selected three .huge reptiles, from which Dr. Crannell extracted the fangs. These he is preserving as pets, and they are represented to be perfect monsters of their species. We receive this snake story from reliable authority, and hava no doubt of its entire accuracy.
