Fire Alarm Telegraph. Yes
terday Mr.. J. B. Franz placed on exbibition at the Third Street Engine House a Fire Alarm Telegraphy which elicited a good deal of interest from those in attendance. . Mr. Franz visited our city at the suggestion of His Honor Maypr Baker, with the viewof giving a practical ' demonstration of the working of this Alarm Telegraph. His Honor, the Mayor and gentlemen of the Council, with many other citizens who felt an interest in the matter, were in attendance. ' Two instruments were ' .placed on . the wall. feet apart, and a demonstration of the power of the apparatus to perform the work claimed for it made ;t which proved highly satisfactory.
