Business In Indianapolis, :.- The business' world hre and elsewhere is most discouraglngly and provokingly quiet; indeed, quite stagnant. This, and the notice of many failures in different parts of the country, a"nd the almost entire stoppage of nearly if not all of our mills when taken in connection with the facr, that large coi poralions and manufactories are discharging many; bands and running short time - one shop alone to our knowledge, having discharged seventy hands at once most disagreeably reminds us of the panic days -of former years. . From what wecan hear and see, our elty is in better condition in thse respects than many of her larger and more Important neighbors. This is attributable very much to the fact that during the Winter probably one million bushels of corn have been shipped from here and vicinity to Eastern markets, and the impetus we are receiving trom the construction t f several new lines of railway, and the manufacturing direction that has been given to a fair portion of our capital of late.
