She was blown ashore above Omaha, and part ot her larboard guard was torn off, and twice the cabin aud pilot-house had to be lashed to prevent their being blown away. The Alton packet Southwest er has ended her career as a steamboat. She was built nine years ago for the Missouri River trade, by Capt. Porter, of Boonviile, being hf principal owner. Her machinery goes it .he new steamer Alton ne.le, which was launched yesterday, on the Ohio. Memphis. The Avalanche of Tuesday says : Weather moderate river stationary, with six and a half feet in the channel. At St. Louis the river is rising slowly , with live and a half feet in the chacnel. A lise Is looked for, also, out of the Cumberland and Tennessee. The channel between hete and Cairo isjmproving slowly. The Arkansas is rising from Fort Smith down.
