The grand Armada is the regular packet for Cairo at three o'e'oek to-day. She is a . beauty with e;egant appointments. Captain Ous. Dusouiiet is her popular commander, and Wilt. S. Fowler and Geo. Nichelson are her pleasant and accommodating clerks. Go for her. . For Louisville The swift Tarascon is the packet for Louisville to-day, and has no superior in ifleetness or fine appointments. Captain A. T. Gilmore Is In command, and Miles D. Warren is her chief clerk. wrthDick Hutchinson in charge of the freight department; For a quick and pleasant ride to Louisville or elsewhere up the river, go on the Tarascon. For the Wabash. The staunch Petro-li.i-No.-2 returns to the Wabash to-day and has.pieasaut officers. ' Foa Greejj River. The Ada Lyon is the regular Green River packet this evening, Capt. -Graham in command, and Joe McReynolds in the office. For Memphis. The 3 ohn D. Perry is the regular Evansville and Memphis packet for the latter port to-ly. - She is a large side-wheel steamboat, very comfortably appointed, and of good speed, making weekly trips promptly and easily. Capt. Lee Finney, a very courteous and plea&ant gentleman, is her experienced commander, and Henry Miller is her accomplished clerk. The Perry is in the trade to stay, and it is to the interests of our merchants and shippers to give her a liberal support. The wild-winged Liberty No. 2 goes to Memphis promptly at 2 o'clock to-day, N and is noted for her great speed, the ex. cellence of her passenger appointments and the courtesy of her officers. Captain J. B. Archer, Joe McCnlloch, and Alex. Stewart are three elegant gentlemen. To-morrow the fleet P. W. Strader may be expected, en route to New Orleans. Mere it has risen 18 iocht-s during the past twenty-lour hours, with 81 feet iri the channel, and 72 feet under the bridge for passing steamers A pair of horns labeled the "Ice King," adorns the top of the texas, on the silver Moon, and well she deserves it, for it will be remembered that she was the first boat to fight her way from Memphis to this port through the port through the heavy ice, which blockaded the river from shore to shore during last Winter. We were unable to learn who presented the Silver Moon with her just reward, yet Captain Ben. Ford, of this cityJhas contracted at Jeffersonvilie with Stewart S Barmore for a powerful towboat. 16-5 feet long. 2b feet beam, and 5 feet hold, with ers 28 feet long and 42 inches in diameter, lour flues each. He has also contracted for three model barges, e ach 180 feet long, 32 feet beam, and 8 feet hoid, with a capacity ot 800 tons each. The boat will be or ten on rge power.
