At Pittsburg the river is falling, with two feet ten inches in the channel. Louisville. The Courier, of Tuesday, says : TVia rivfir was falline rather last yesterday, with five feet nine inches water in the canal in the evening by the mark. During the previous twenty-four hours it had fallen three inches at the head of the falls and nine inches at Portland. The weather continues clear and cold, the thermometer at suurise yesterday being la degrees above zero, and only 20 at; noon. In the evening it turned warmer, and after dusk it had clouded up again, with a light fall of snow. On the falls last evening there were three feet nine inches water in the pass down the Indian chute and falling, with considerable floating ice in ttie river. . It was stated last evening that Capt. Chenowith had determined to push on with the Darling to Memphis. The Clifton, that arrived from Cincinnati, yesterday, reports the Silver Spray, bound for New Orleans, laid up at the foot of Vevay Island. The river was reportea gorged ny ice at the head of Six-Mile Island last evening.

A number oi our boats with their crews got away from under 'their ice seal, and are busily engaged - making . money ; between Cairo, ..and: JNew Urleans, Dut : cy far the greater number of boats are here, a burden to their owners, and thousands of boatmen are becoming distracted for want of something to do. There was another mild spell yesterday; some new-made ice floated past all day, at the usual rate oi speed, and the river continued falling slowly.
