The Silver Moon, Captain Mirrielees. leaves this evening, followed by the Darling, Captain Chenoweth. The Emerald and other New Orleans packets are likewise preparing tc leave. The underwriters are again injuring on cargoes. Louisville. The Courier, of Thursday, says: The river was falling slowly yesterday.' with five feet four inches water in the canal in the evening, by the mark. Daring the previous twenty four hours it had fallen two inches at I be head of the falls, and six inches at Portland. The wettber was moderating all dav, with the thermometer rangiui; from 38 to 4CP, but it was freezing at niKbt, with a big, white frost yesterday morning. On the falls there were scant three-and-a-half feet water in the chute down the Indiana shore. The river, though pretty full of ice, was far less obstructed yesterday than it had been for several days. The ice had thinned out, or had nearly ail run out. the weather not being hard enough to make more. There is a good deal of ice along the shores, and the wharf space Irom Fourth Street to the canal is full ot heavy ice. The Plain City has her days of departure from tills poit changed. Hereafter she leaves here every Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock, from the city wharf, taking freights for all points along Green River. The Democrat says: The Captain of the Alice V. made the "negro recruits" "tote corn" aboard at Evansville. They waded through the pile in a hurry.
