LA tlPAi.Ci.Hf TR1RLNE. '"tue extra tkibuxe fob thbj POLITICAL CAMPAIGN.
f.t.O M l'tf 'X f t I I' A political struggle, rarely surpassed in importance or intensity, has been precipitated on the country by the treachery of Andrew Johnson and some of his official or personal adherents j,o the, great- d palrWlc party by which they were Inti ustMffth power. The aim of 'his treachery is to put the steadfast loyalists ol the South under the feetof Hie ''whipped, but not subdued." ltebels.aiid to enable the latter to 1 it their vengeance on the former, whom they hate and curse as responsible lor the most unexpected overthrow of their darilng 'Confederacy . The recent wholesale massacres at Memphis and NewrO lexns were but conspicuous manifestations of the spirit now rampant in-the South, whereof the pro-Rebel triumph in Kentucky is a more recent example. The soldi, is of Lee, Beauregard, .Johns on and Hood are now tbe dominant power from the Potortae ' to the Rio Grande; they elect each other to office in preference even to stay-at-houie Rebels; they have supplanted nearly all others as policemen of southern cities; tbey are organized and officered as s ate militia; and they ruthlessly cruih every demonstration of loyal Whites or loyal Blacks in assertion of the equal rights of American Freemen The school hous-s of the Blacks are burni d and their White teachers subjected to violence and outrage by unchanged Rebels, who relieve the work of murder and arson by eheers'for Andy Johnson and execrations of CongNCjK The purpo.se of forcing representatives of the Rebel Stales into Congress, in defiance of the loyal oath, by Presidential Hat and Military power, is openly avowed, with threap that those 'who resist it shall be treated as rebels, and a civil war thus kindled throughout the North and West, , , it ha thus become iinnei ative that thoKe who stand for LIHERTY and LOYALTY for the right of the Uniot) to exist and qf 5IAN to be FREE should organize and w irk to strengthen the hands of CpNGHMMB forthe Inevitable contest before us. We must convince the SOUTH and the COPPERHEADS that revolutions go ifdi backward, that emancipation Is an unchangeable fact that the glorious CIVIL RIGHTS act can never be repealed that the rights of the humblest AMERICAN are henceforth guaranteed and shielded by the FEDERAL CONSTITUTION nd. must be maintained against all gatnMayers that the days wherein RLACJCS had no rights which WHITES were bound to respect have passed away forever. We hold to-day the power in ail tke FREE STATES of 800, in WEST VIRGINIA, and in MissofKI besides. We must hold these in our ensuijiu eleetioh. and add to them M AH V LAN 1' and DELAWAREthe former lost to uh through treachery, otherwise Juhusouism. We must elect to the XLth Cougress an overwhelming majority devoted to Jjoyalty. Nationality, and tbe inalienable Bights of Man. To this end, let Light and Truth be systeniaticiiily diffused to every neighbor-' hood, every fireside, throughout our broad con n t ry . To this end, we propose an extra issue of the Weekly Tribune (identical in size and contents with the regular edition), Which we will supply on the following terms, the paper to be sent and subscriptions to commence on. receipt 'of the money 2 copies for three months ... 1 12 .26 00 100 y.i 2tr.' :ft 3U : PAYABLE ALWAYS IN ADVANCE. We were subscribers and readers of The fktily Times for a number of years, but last Winter we became disgusted with that, and subscribed for one year to The Daily Herald being certain what to expect from that paper, we preferred it to The Times. We stood The Zerad during the Winter; through the Session of Congress, and even through the Rebel Convention at Philadelphia; but the " Presidential tour is too much for us, and we cave. If you know of any good honest Democrat you can recommend to us, we will havethe balance of our subscription to The Herald sent to him, and jl it don't make a Republican of him before the President returns to Washington, then we think he ought to be turned over to Ben.
