The great horse fair at New Albany opened on Tuesday.. The attendance does not seem to have been as large as was expected, nor were the entries as numerous. Seven entries of stallions wore made,,an4 the blue ribbon waa carried off by ' Whirlwind," the property of Henry Liter, of Jefferson County. In the ring of mares for general purposes, five entries were made, and four . were exhibited. " Kitty Lewis," the property of Mark Lewis, took the first premium. On the time track, . the first entries for the citizens' premium $50 did not go, there being but two entries, and the rule required three.
