Yesterday they began their depredations upon the Alice Dean, and for spite, set some cotton on fire, which was fortunately extinguished before much damage was done. To-day, they compelled the Alice Dean's men to quit work or take shelter aboard the boat. - The -colored - firemen 're' turned the stone throwing, and were beating the young mackerels, when some Irishmen interfered. Pilot Jim. Carroll, seeing a second riot imminent. advud Mates Megary and Wilson to withdraw the firemen, which they prudently did. In throwing the stones they broke two sky-lights, tbe stone entering the office, breaking a eoal oil lamp, which spilled the oil all over the deck.
