Umos " Hospitality is Tennessee. The Nashville Banner relates the following: A worthy friend from the farming districts, who occssionaliy drops ia upon us to pet the latest new?, narrates the following,: A traveler passing through his neighborhood, on horseback, stopped at a modest cottage oa the roadside, and asked for shelter, as it was quite dark and raining. .The " head of the family " came to the door and accosted the traveler with: ' What do you want?-' " I want to stay all night," was the reply- " W hat are yer .'" This interrogatory was not thoroughly understood by the traveller, and he asked an explar.atiou. " I mean what's yer politics?" rejoined the former. "Air yer for this Union or agin it?'' This was a poser, as the traveler was not certain whether " the man of the house" was a Union man or a Secessionist, and he was anxious to " tie up " for the night so he made up his mind and said, " My friend I am for the Union and Consti " Stranger, y-e-o-kin kiim in !" It is needless to add that the traveler dismounted, and both men and beast were hospitably taken care of for the night.

Tbe inventor and manufacturer of " Judson'a Mountain Herb Pills " has spent the greater part of bis life in traveling, having visited nearly every country in the vorld. He spent over six years

that all diseases arise from IMPURE BLOOD f
The blood is the life ; and when any foreign or no healthy matter gets mixed with it, it is at once tils

feels the poison, and all the vital organs quickly
complain, xne stomacn win not digest the food rerfectly. The liver ceases to secrete a sufficiency
of bile. The action of the heart is weakened, and so the circulation is weakened. Tie lungs become
clogged with the poisonous matter; hence, i cough and all from a slight impurity at the foun
tain head of life the Blood I As If you had throwM some earth, for instance, to a pure spring, from which ran a tiny rivulet in few mi notes
the whole course of the stream becomes disturbed
and discolored. As quickly does impure blood fly
to every part, and leave its sting behind. All the
passages become obstructed, and unless the ob
struction is removed, the lamp of life soon dies out
These puis not only purity the blood, but regen
erate nil the secretions ot ins body. They are
therefore, unrivaled as a . CURE FOR BILIOUS DISEASES,

HOSTETTER'S STOMACHJHTTERS. - JH. nfactnrersof HOSTETTER'S CELEB RATED STOMACH EITTERS can appeal with perfect confidence to physicians and citizens generally of the United States, beranse the article has attained a reputation heretofore unknown. A few facts upon this point will speak more powerfully than volumes ef bare assertion or blazoning puffory. The consumption of Hostetter's Stomach Bitters for the last year amounted to over a half million bottles, and from its manifest steady increase in times past, it is evident that during the coming year, the consumption will reach near one million bottles. This immense amount could never have been sdd hut for the rare medicinal properties contained in tbe preparation, and the sauctiou of tbe most prominent physicians in those sections of the country where the article is best known, who not only recommend the Bitters to their patients, bnt are ready at all times to give testimonials to its etlicacy in ail cases ef stomachic derangements and the diseases resulting therefrom. This is not a temporary popularity, obtained by extraordinary efforts in the way of trumpeting the qualities of the Bitters, but a solid estimation of an invaluable medicine, which ia destined io be as en during as time iteelf. Hostetter's Stomach Bitters have proved a Godsend to regions where fever and ague and various other bilious complaints have counted their victims by hundreds. To be able to state confidently that the "Bitters" are a certain cure for the Dyspepsia and like diseases, is to the proprietors a source of unalloyed pleasure. It removes all morbid matter from the stomach, purifies the blood, and Imparts renewed vitality to the nervous system, giving it that tone and energy indispensable for the restoration of health. It operates npon the stomach, liver, and other digestive organs, mildly but powerfully, and soon restores them to a condition essential to the healthy discharge of the functions of nature. Elderly persons may nee the Bitters daily as per directions on the bottle, aud they will hud in it a stimulant peculiarly adapted to comfort decliniro; years, as it is pleasaut to the palate, invigorating to the bowels, excellent as a tonic, and rejuvenating generally. We have the evidence of thousands ot aged men and women who have experience! the benefit of nsing this preparation while stiff ring from stomach derangements and general debility , acting under the advice of Physicians, thev have abandoned all deleterious drugs, and fairly tosfed the merits of this article. A tew words to the gentler sex. Thftre are certain periods when their cares are so harrassing that many of them sink under the trial. Tbe relation of mother and child is so absorbingly tender, that the mother, especially if she be young, is ajt to forget her own health in her extreme auxiety for lifr iul'unt. Should the period of maternity arrive duriug the summer season, the wear of body aud mind is generally aggravated. Here, then, is a necessity for a stimulant to recuperate tbe energies of tbe system, and mi -able the mother to bear up under her exhausting trials and responsibilities. Nursing mothers generally prefer the Bitters to all other iuvigorators that receive the endorsement of physicians, because It is agreeable to the taste as well as certain to give a permanent increase of liodily strength. All those persons to whom we have par'icularly referred above, to-wit: sufferers from fever and ague, caused by malaria, diarrhiea, dysentery, indigestion, loss of appetite, and all diseases or derangements of the stomach, superannuated invalids, persons of sedentary occupation, ami nursing mothers, will cousnlt their own physical welfare by giving to Hostetter's Celebrated Stomach Bitters a trial. CAUTION. We caution the public against using any of the many imitations or counterfeits, but ask for Hostetter's Cklkduatko Stomach Bitters, and see that each bottle has the words "Dr. J - Hoytetter's Stomach Bitters" blown on the side of tbe bottle, and stamped on the metallic cap covering the cork, and observe that our autograph signature is on tbe label. Sf, Prepared and sold by Hostetter A Smith, Pittsburgh, Pa., and sold by all druggists, grocers.
