Let me as long as life lingers, Sing with the Cherubim singers, Glory to God in the height ! Wonderful, wonderful night !'' B3uThe New York World, sneaking of the latest foreign news, says " the fact that the secession panic in this country had pro duced no appreciable effect in England ; that the money market was active; that business men felt no depression ; and that ppecie was seut on its way to this country in the ordinary course of trade, without causing Hpi'rcheusions, and as a matter of routine, is of more consequence just now to our mer chants than any movement on the continent of Europe. The effect of this news cannot be but to cheer already reviving confidence." Censurable. The recent actiou of the city Banks at Indianapolis in throwing out and discrediting the notes of the nine Indiana free banks, all of which are amply secured and have never declined to redeem in E ld on demand, is censurable in tbe highest degree. The financial embarrassments of the country are deplorable enough at best, and there is something in the crisis which should elevate men above the mere desire for gain. Laf. Cottr.
