It says: What eonanqAenjces will result from the elevation of this sectional prrtjr, is more than we ean say, but we sincerely hope that the people in nil sections of the t'nlon, will acquiesce in the election af Mr. Lincoln, and permit hitu to lie inaugurated on the 4lh of March next as the President of the United States. The whole White River Valley, fiom Indianapolis to Martinsville, is one of the richest in the western country. The Evansville & Indianapolis Straight Line Railroad has proved such a failure, and the citizens in all this region consider themselves so outrageously swindled by that road, that they are dis courage i. If Ihe business men of Indianapolis would lake bold of the enterprise, and our people could see a certain prospect of getting a road to the capital, they would go into it wilh a hearty good will. "Take a Drink. ': The Overland Mail brings us l.os Angelos papers of October 15. They are filled with accounts of the completion of the telegraph between that place and San Francisco. The following congratulatory dispatch was among those received. It is like everything else in California, exceedingly sm generis : "San Fbancisco, Oct. Sth. We congratulate you and the citizens of Eos Angelos, on the completion of the line to that point Take a drink." Bach dispatch was received with cheers, in which the ladies joined by waving their handkerchiefs. The greatest enthusiasm prevailed on the occasion. Cin. Gaz. e have seen some awful typographical errors in our day and generation, but seldom any more absurd than the following.
