Keep tt Before the People, it the Republican party Is the onlj ty which has in good faith stood up to the e Homestead Measure, and which is cer i to make that measure a law of the land en it get3 the power to do so. Its Repretatives and Senators have, eren since the Ss'ence of the party, done all they have in able to do, to pass a wholesome Homead Bill, but have been hindered by the mucratic Senate and President. Last sion of Congress they would have passed h a bill but for these opposing influences, ey proposed a first rate Homestead Bill' was modified by the Senate 80 as to be s favorable to freemen than at first, and ally vetoed and destroyed by a DemocratPresident. The Republicau party pUdjei itself in its ltiona! Platform to pans ouch a measure hen it gets the power todo so. All its aems prove it rincere in its professions o endship for this benign measure. All the tions of other parties prove thtm hostile it. We appeal to the maifes, who are to be mefited ly the Homestead measure, to up. art the party which has been trne to their . teres t. From On Cin. fries Currtnt, Oct. 17, MWi uracil stud Financial Summary of the Pat Week. There has nothing arisen during the past cek to disturb the quietness and ease of le money market, noticed in oar last ; the ' emand has been bnt moderate, and the egular banking houses have taken all the j ood paper offered at 10(?,12 per cent. The offerings of time bills on the East , nd South have been very light, and rates ema!n as last quoted, say 710 for East- ' rn and 1012 for New Orleans. The demand for sight Exchange has beeu aoderate during the week, without the lightest change in retes, except New Orsans, which is lower, and we quote : Buying. Selling. The weather has been cool and pleasant luring the week, the temperature ranging from 40 to 65 during the day. Friday night there was a white frost in the city, being the first of the season. The market for Flour has been dull and fllfeless all the week, tboueh there was --rather exciting news from New York Saturday, where prices advarjeed 10(3jl5c per brl., with a large export demand, but it bad no influence of consequence on this market, which is to be attributed to the fact that flour is relatively higher in this maiket than in New York by fully 40c, rendering shipments to that or any of the Eastern markets out of the question. The sales during the week did not exceed 7,000 bbls., and the receipts being largely in excess j of the exports, it will he seen that the stock is rapidly accumulating. Superfine may be quoted at J5,5 10 ; extra $5 15 i 5 30 j extra family and fancy $5 405 50 ; j and Fagan's Epieurean $G 25. A strong faith exists that prices will rule higher, and hence the great unwillingness to submit to any decline. Wheat has not changed in any particular, hot has ruled dull at Si 081 io for prime red and 1 14(nl 16 for prime white. The impor's of both this article and flour show a large increase of stock. We received during the past sis weeks 7&,680 brls flour ami 208,903 bush wheat. Now by reducing wheat to flour, we find that the total receipts since the 1st of last month are equal to 125,000 barrels flour. The exports in that time were 57, 33 bbls of flour, and 46,403 bash wheat, equal in all to 63,000 bbls flour. Xow add to this, the City consumption, which has been about 26,000 bbls flour, and the whole amount will be 94,000 bbls, which would show an accumulation of flour and wheat here since Sept. 1st of equal to 59,000 bbls flour, to which may be added a stock of flour here Ang. 31st, of about 25,000 bbls, which would swell the total stock to 54,000 bbls. Corn has been in good supply, and dull at 40(3)43 for old, and 30(7,33 for new. Oats ranged from 2930c, closing at the latter rate and firm. An active demand arose for fall barley towards the close of the week, and some 20,00 0 bush sold at 85e for prime fill. Spring b8 been rather dull at "0,7,75c. Rye dull M 6 Whisky ruled Steady all the week at lSfc woich is the third week which baa passed without a change io the price of' this article ; qoitc an unusual thing. Cheese has come in more freely, bat baa been held pretty firmly at 10c, though some sales were mado at 9c The imports and exporto indicate an accumulation of Stock. Butter ia better supply and le lower. Green apples plenty and of superior qua!:, ly. They were sold as low as 75 per brl in the early part of ihe week, bnt closed at $1 to 1 60, according tr finality. The market for Provisions presented nothing new during the week ; the demand has hceo quite limited for mess pork at $17 75 !,il8, and for bacon, at 8(3ic for shoulders, llfailfe for svlet. 70 bbds dear side s'jsd last Saturday at Madison, Iml., at 13$c. The demand has bMn chiefly or a retail character.

For future delivery of new meat, there is

lime doing, and not many imvr? r indeed sellers. Mess pork could be sold at $16 50 Cur December, bulk meat at nn-i 8c, audlard at 10c, at which rale some 500 tierces were fold. For Najsember, lard is held at loc. There are tome ordeife berp for English bacon, but at lower rates; say 8c for Cumberland, 8Jc for long rib, 8ic for short rib, 8c for long and tc for snort clear. Tbeo rates are below the views of tellers, however, fully Jc. Notwithstanding the quietness in the product, the demand for hogs continues good, and $C 75 for November, and G 50 for December, has been paid for some '9,000 head during the week, though there was a large increase in the ofterings yesterday, and lot to average 200 lbs could have been bought at $6 60 for November, and there were plenty of sellers at 6 50 for December. The advices from the country say that the ; efforts being made to prepare bogs for mar ket are strong and general, as corn pays so much better in pork than it is expected to I do otherwise. In another part of our paper will be ! j found the assessors' return of bogs in 39 : counties in Indiana, and about 40 counties in this State. They show a large falling off this year, which, like Kentucky, will no doubt continne to brighten the prospects of the future, in the estimation of those who have bought for future delivery. It does seem to us, however, that the chances are, in the main, against those who pay $6 60 j net for hogs. A Sbnsatiox Hkadiko.
