Lue Eaves, Green river. ——— ......The <River> opposite this point, Saturday was still stationary. The <Weather> was clear and very warm until evening, when it clouded up, and we had a fine thunder shower, accompained [sic] by a violent storm of wind which caused several boats lying at the landing to part their lines and swing out into the river; but we learn of no damage done, further than the prostration of several flag poles in different parts of the city, ......The <Dunbar>, in charge of Capt. Gus Fowler, with the clever and attentive clerk, Gus Dusouchet, in the office, leaves the wharf for Paducah at 12 o'clock to-day. She is the regular mail and passenger packet. ......The <Lue Eaves>, under the command of Capt. Jim McDonald, with the popular John Travis in the office, leaves for Woodbury and all intermediate points at 6 o'clock this evening. She is the regular semiweekly mail packet, and the only boat now plying in Green river. ......The "star" packet, <Grey Eagle>, she of the music-box arrangement, will be in port for Louisville and all way landings at 12 o'clock to-day. She is particularly "fancy," and without doubt the most popular passenger boat now plying. Capt. A. Connally paces the hurricane deck, while the office is worthily filled by the frank and attentive Lusk. The absurd report put in circulation by one of the Cincinnati papers to the effect that she was about to leave this trade and go above the Falls, is of course all gammon. Considering the immense popularity she is gaining among the shipping fraternity, we ''rather calkilate" she is well enough suited to remain with us. ......The old ferry-boat at this place, having been drawn out of the water and thoroughly repaired, commenced running again as an inter-State packet on Saturday. A ferry at this point is a great convenience, and her absence while laid up has been seriously felt. Though an ungainly looking craft, she fills her place in a very creditable manner and carries her passengers safely. She is owned by Postmaster Rudd. ......The <Masonic Gem>, which has been so long gathering up a load for White river, arrived here after our port list closed on Friday night. She lay at the wharf until 10 o'clock on Saturday, when she passed on down. ......The <Fanny Bullitt> evening with a good trip of freight and full of passengers. She returned well laden. ......The diminutive steamer <Lark>, which has been plying between Evansville, Newburg and Enterprise during the summer, exploded her boiler on Friday morning, whilst lying at the landing at Newburg. There were three persons on board at the time of the accident, one of whom was slightly injured, but the others were unhurt. She was damaged to the extent of $200 or 300. Her owner, Mr. David Sprinkle, intends to have her repaired and placed in running order as soon as possible. ......New boars continue to pass down al- most daily. The new Bends packet, <Mary Keene>, a beautiful specimen of New Albany marine architecture, went down on Friday evening, and the <Key West No.> 2, recently finished at Pittsburg, passed Saturday morning on her way to St. Louis. ......The <Charley Bowen> and <Bowling Green> arrived from their excursion trips to Mt. Vernon and Rockport at about 11 o'clock Saturday, full of passengers coming to see and hear Gov. Corwin. The <Bowen> left at 5 1/2 P. M. for Cairo, crowded with freight and passengers.
