Charley Bowen, Cairo: Grey Eagle, Henderson and Louisville. ——— ......The <Weather> yesterday was rather warm but more pleasant than some days we have had this season. The thermometer stood at 85°. ......The <River> at this point was swelling pretty fast yesterday evening having risen about one foot during the previous 24 hours. A part of the rise is from Green river, but the swell from above is just reaching us. All the boats which were aground between this and Louisville have been enabled to get off, and the river is now clear with about 4 1/2 feet on Scuffletown—the worst bar. The <Glendale, which has been so long aground at Flint Island, got away on Friday and has laid up at Cincinnati. The <B. J. Adams> which has also been been [sic] on the bar at French Island came down yesterday evening, being eleven days out from Louisville.— Latest accounts from Louisville report the river still rising slowly with about 4 1/2 feet water in the canal. Thence to Cincinnati there were about 8 feet. At that point, Saturday, the river had risen 3 feet in the preceding 48 hours, and was still swelling. At Pittsburg on Saturday, the river had again commenced receding and there were about 8 feet of water in the channel. The present rise will not more than enable the large boats now in the river to get into quarters, and it will doubtless be falling again in a few days throughout its whole extent. ......The <Charley Bowen> is in port for Cairo this morning. She was the pioneer of the Evansville and Cairo trade, and the popularity of her officers, and her excellent qualities as a steamer have made her a universal favorite. She will continue to make her regular trips as long as there are 30 inches of water in the channel. ......The <Grey Eagle> comes down from Louisville, and returns this evening, if not impeded by low water, at her usual time. This will be her last trip in this trade, this season. Last Saturday evening, on her last trip down, she went aground at Scuffletown and failing to get over the bar, returned thence to Louisville. The <Goody Friends> brought down her passengers. The <Masonic Gem> took up her back trip on Sunday evening, and will be in again on Thursday. The <Gem> will ply regularly in this trade in the place of the <Grey Eagle. ......The Lue Eaves> left yesterday for Bowling Green carrying the mail in the place of the <Masonic Gem>. ......The <Peytona> was telegraphed for to go to Louisville yesterday, but her crew had not arrived. She will probably leave to-day. COMPLIMENTARY CARD.—The undersigned passengers on the steamer <D. B. Campbell> on her late excursion trip to Evansville, to attend the Celebration, take this occasion to return our thanks to Capt. Chas. G. Lumn for his endeavors to make us all comfortable. To the accomplished and agreeable Clerks, Travis and Davis, we feel that we cannot express too much. Notwithstanding the crowded state of the boat, his efforts to render the passengers all attention were entirely successful. They are model clerks, and we feel that under the direction of Capt. Lamm on the "hurricane roof," and Travis and Davis in the office of the <Campbell>, we can safely recommend her as the star packet in the Green River trade. Miss M A Stembridge, Miss M. D. Farah, " S. J. McNary, " Mollie Mosley, " Julia Hicks, " Maggie Davis, " Lucy Hicks, " Flora Davis, " R. McFarland, "A. J. McCain, " M. McFarland, " C. J. McEwell " E. C. Morgan, " C. J. Spray, " Mattie Burns, " Lizzie Strother, " Mollie Funk, " Sallie Hicks, " Lizzie Busbey, " P. Chambers, " Annie Burrnell, " Jennie Spray, " Mattie Waltrip, " Annie Burnell, " Martha Trice, Mrs. F. Keplinger, And 136 gentlemen. <Enquirer>, Louisville <Journal>, Owensboro, and Henderson papers please copy. ......The <Atlantic>, fearing low water, turned back, from Paducah, and the <Dunbar> brought up her trip. ......The little <Trio> seems to be rather erratic in her movements. She came in on Sunday night, and departed immediately for Louisville. The <Masonic Gem> having taken all the freight and passengers, she went away empty handed. Had she waited until morning and departed on the<Bracelet's> regular time, she would have obtained a fair trip. ......The <Chancellor> passed down yesterterday [sic] with a cargo of mules. ......The new New Albany boat, <L. C. Ferry>, came down yesterday evening. She is a beautifully finished little craft, and every thing about her appears as neat as a pin. She has been for several days engaged in getting off the <B. J. Adams>, and is at present acting as tender for her, but would make a beautiful packet for the Louisville and Henderson, or Cairo trade. Th<B. J. Adams> will run from Cairo to New Orleans during the summer. Vincennes Correspondence. VINCENNES, July 9. EDITORS JOURNAL:—Wabash river rose 2 feet 2 inches in the past 48 hours, and still rising fast. There is now 7 feet full on nine mile riffle. W. H. W.

COMMERCIAL. Weekly Review of tlie Kvausville Wholesale Market. OrricatM Evansville JcritNAL, I Monday evening, July Uth. Commerci.il affairs have presented no new feature during the past week. The market continues ipiiet, with very little change since our last review. The Wheat crop in this vicinity seem to have turned out as well or better thau expected, but very little of it has as vet made its appearance in the market. We have had during the wek a succession of showery weather, alternating with a very hot sun in the intervals. Wherever the Wheat was in the field, it of course 'could not escape Injury, but we pnana most of it has leeu sately housed. The Corn and other en ps are comina; on finely, and premise a good yield. The Wheat market is very dull at present, the old crop l-eing nearly exhausted, and the new not yet fairly in. There is no change in Flour, and very little doing. The prices are kept up by the millers in order to enable them Ij get rid of their old stock without loss. Corn is quiet and unchanged, very little changing hands, although the shipments are still considerable. Other grains are very scarce, aud we have no quotations to offer. Groceries remain quiet aad unchanged, but are very firmly held. There is very little doing in the Provision market, aud noalterations of prices. Whisky is dull and a trifle lower, but the transactions are inconsiderable. FLOUR.
