The Weather yesterday was jileitsant but quite windy, so much so as to occasion the ladies who chanced to be on the streets considerable difficulty. Business was dull. Freights are scarce and rule at yesterday's quotations. The Autocrat will be down to-day, prepared to take all the freight on our landing. Capt. Scott is a veteran commander, and the office is under the control tit' popular and gentlemanly clerks. The Autocrat is the Kvansville boat, aud all the freight to go South should be sent down to her to-day. The Lue Eaves arrived yeslcijay lorenoon with hhds tobacco for Slaughter & Dunkerson, aud 20 for Brown & Aikman. Capt. Taylor informs us that Green Uiver was rising rapidly. It has risen three feet so far. The Charley Bovcen left at 12 o'clock with a fair trip of produce and passengers. The Pacific was at the landing some time yesterday. She took on board aliout 1,000 sacks corn, besides other freight. The swift Dunbar will leave to-day at 12 o'clock for Paducah and way points Capt. Fowler is her commander, and Gus Dusouchct her popular clerk. They are both gentlemen of pleasing manner?, and will look carefully after the comfort of passengers. The Lue Eaves will leave to-day for South Carrolton and Pond River. Capt. McDonald will be found in command, with that obliging and clever fellow, Z u:k Taylor, in the office. Passengers up Green Rivetwill do well to secure berths on the Eaves. Vlntenues Corrcapondrucr. Vincknnes, May 29, 18G0. Editors Journal. Wabash river fell three inches in the past 24 hours. JetflVe have, within a week, tiaveled over a large portion of the State, and it affords us much pleasure to state that we have a very excellent prospect for fruit. Apple?, Peaches, Pears, and small fruits, are all above aa average. A few orchards are nearly barren, and some trees are fruitless, on the North-west side, but generally the late cold weather did but little harm. In J. Ear mt r.
